IGP appoints Bala Senchi as interim DIG, redeploys three AIGs
Inspector General of Police Usman Baba has appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police (AIG) Bala Senchi as Acting Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Operations Department.
A statement from acting police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said on Saturday that Mr Senchi is becoming the DIG representing the North West geopolitical zone by appointment.
Mr. Adejobi said the IGP also ordered the redeployment of three AIGs, Aji Janga, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Bala Ciroma, Federal Operations (FEDOPS) and Ndatsu Mohammed, Zone 7 Abuja.
He said the redeployments followed a recent vacuum caused by the retirement of some senior officers after their statutory years of service had ended.
The spokesperson listed the retirees to include Zaki Ahmed, the DIG representing the North West Geopolitical Zone, former DIG in charge of operations, and John Abang, AIG Police Mobile Force (PMF).
He quoted the IGP as urging senior officers to bring their vast experience and professionalism to the service of the leadership of their respective departments/commands to enhance the ongoing repositioning of the Force.
Mr. Adejobi said the assignments/redeployments were with immediate effect.
